About the animations

I like to use different animations techniques. At ArtEZ, Zwolle I learned how to make 2D animations and how to draw frame by frame. In my time abroad in Finland I learned how to make stop-motion animations and later I went to Reducations in Ede to learn how to animate in Blender for 3D animations. Nowadays I am a 3D animator for my work, love it!

Growl - evolution 2D animation

This is my graduation animation for ArtEZ, Zwolle. It’s completely drawn frame by frame on computer. It shows my fascination with evolution on islands and how fast this go’s. It might be a bit cruel, but I think that’s typical how nature works. Grow(l) or be eaten!

Circus in the Woods - Stop-motion animation

While studying abroad in Finland, Turku for half a year, we had amazing lessons in stop-motion. We made our own puppets and animated them. We produced our own story, decors, puppets and did the editing together. Really happy with my first stop-motion puppet, the circus master (man with antlers). He is the first art doll I ever made! And from there all others came into life.

Playground intro sketch - 3D animation

For my study at Reductions in Ede, we had the assignment to make the intro for Playgrounds (not for real of course, but to try). It’s made entirely in Blender, 3D animation.

Groeikracht - Game oriented animation

I wanted to created an animation that had some game elements in it. My theme was survival by evolution on islands and it’s made with different animation techniques. It includes 3D animation with Blender, 2D animation with After Effects and stop-motion animation.

Lapjesboom - 2D animation

This animation was inspired on the little bit scary lapjesboom in de vennen. I was thinking, hmmm would could happen there? And here it is! Working together with a talented composer.

Caveman and Polarbear - short 3D animation

Here is a very primitive caveman walking into a cave, what could be there? Inspired by the beautiful colours of the Sami culture. Who knows they have polar bears too?
